Securing Global Competitive Edge for Ontario's Auto Sector

Canada and Ontario Drive Creation of New Automotive Investment Committee
June 9, 2015

The Ontario and Canadian governments are taking bold, proactive action in the auto sector to attract additional investment, create jobs, and ensure Ontario excels in the increasingly competitive global auto market.

The province, the Canadian Automotive Partnership Council (CAPC) and the federal government collaborated to create a new CAPC sub-committee to promote Ontario's auto sector in the competitive global marketplace.

Ray Tanguay, former Chairman of Toyota's Canadian operations and one of the industry's strongest and most successful advocates, will chair the committee to advise both governments and business.

Under the Chair's leadership, the committee will provide both governments with strategic advice in the attraction of incremental automotive investment in the province, while positioning Ontario's automotive sector for long-term success.
